The fully-funded SINGA 2023 – Singapore International Graduate Award is a doctoral scholarship by Singapore for all aspiring researchers for PhD in sciences all over the world. It is a merit-based scholarship for highly academically talented students.
The scholarship warmly welcomes students with research interests in areas such as Biomedical sciences, computing and information sciences, Engineering and technology, and physical sciences.
About SINGA 2023.
The SINGA scholarship is a collaborative initiative between top-ranked research-based institutions in Singapore. It aims to attract students from diverse backgrounds which makes it a bridge between these great minds and the nation of Singapore.
The universities and institutions that made the SINGA award are the Agency for Science, Technology and Research [A*STAR], the Nanyang Technology University [ NTU], the National University of Singapore [NUS], The Singapore University of Technology and Design [SUTD] and the Singapore Management University. They are well-equipped towards helping their students achieve their goals.
This full-time research scholarship is also monitored by world-renowned and distinguished supervisors who make sure the aim and the purpose of the award come to fruition and gain excellence in their respective research work and fields.
Aside from the academic benefits of the award, the students will learn to co-exist in a multi-cultural environment thereby establishing global links with Singapore as the gateway to some of the fastest-growing economies in the Asian-Pacific region.
The course level SINGA scholarship is PhD/ Doctorate, with a course duration of 4 years.
Benefits Of SINGA Scholarship 2023.
1. 100% tuition fee covered.
2. There is a monthly stipend of $2000 for the awardees which will be increased to $2700 after passing of the qualification examination.
3. Awardees will receive a one-time airfare grant of $1,500
4. Also, one-time settling allowance of up to $1,000.
Eligibility Criteria For SINGA Scholarship
1. Only international students are eligible – NO Singaporean, permanent residents and international students who have studied in Singapore tertiary institutions are eligible.
2. SINGA 2023 is intended primarily for international students who are studying for the first time in Singapore.
3. Applicants must be proficient in written and spoken English.
4. Applicants must have excellent academic records and good academic testimonials from referees.
5. Applicants who wish to apply for a master’s program are not eligible.
6. Applicant must have a passion for research and pursue PhD in Science and Engineering.
7. PhD courses for social sciences, humanities, economies, etc are not eligible.
How To Apply For SINGA 2023
Follow these procedures to apply for the Singapore International Graduate Award scholarship.
1. Firstly, go to the Research Areas and browse the projects you are interested in as soon as you log in to the application portal.
2. Applicants to submit all necessary documents online ONLY, do not mail any hardcopy documents to the SINGA office.
3. Softcopies of the required documents must be uploaded to the online application.
4. Applicants applying through the SINGA portal should not apply through the university separately
5. Referees must send reference letters to the SINGA directly.
6. Application processing starts as soon as at least two reference letters are received by SINGA.
7. Applicants can submit more than 0ne but not more than three research proposals
8. The applicants will have to elaborate their research proposals in their application forms.
9. There is no need to contact any supervisor in order to apply for SINGA.
10. Try to submit your application at least two weeks before the deadline because once the application is submitted, your referees will receive an email and they have up to 7 days to complete and submit reference letters directly back to SINGA.
Required Documents For SINGA 2023
The following documents form part of your application process and they must be included in your application package before submitting/uploading on the portal.
1. A valid passport
2. Your most recent passport-sized photo in jpeg or png format.
3. All academic transcripts must be translated into English.
4. Two recommendation letters by your referees submit online.
5. English Proficiency certificate [ if requested by any of the university or projects.
Please check and ensure that all data you have entered in the online application form is correct and accurate before you submit the application. Amendments to the application will NOT be possible after it is submitted.
