This year’s graduation Ceremony of Salon Services Hair & Beauty Academy was held on a low key at the Osu Presby Church Hall on Sunday 21st of February. Even though it was a small ceremony it was very eventful with some choreography performance as well as a fashion show to showcase the works of the graduands.
In attendance were representatives from COVET, NVTI and the National President of the Ghana Beauticians and Hairdressers Association (GHABA) who in her final speech charged the graduands and promised to help them dig their feet in the market place since it is new to them.
Mr Fredrick Ntim, the representative of COVET also spoke on the importance of skill training for self employment and National development and encourage the audience to take vocational skills serious since that holds the key to the development of our dear nation. Awards were presented to deserving students in various categories like: shampooing & Roller Setting, Manicure & Pedicure, Nail Art, Massage, Facial therapy & Waxing Chemical relaxing, coloring , Makeup and others. The climax was when the awards for the second best and overall Best students were presented to Miss Janet Boatemaa and Miss Rose Ocquaye respectively. An uproar of shouting and dancing by their colleagues to cheer them on turned the place into something amazing.
In a short interview with the Administrator of the School, Miss Claudia Twum, she expressed her utmost appreciation to all the instructors and management members for their support at all times even in this difficult moment of COVID 19 when there is so much financial constraints. She wished the graduands well and ask that they go out there and make Salon Services proud. She concluded that admissions are open all year round and so people can walk in any time.
