Nana Addo’s First Reaction To Martin Amidu’s Resignation

The president of Ghana Nana Addo Dankwah Akufo-Addo has accepted and given his consent to outgoing Special Prosecutor Martin Amidu’s resignation.

The letter which took the president less 24hours to reply has him assuring the out special prosecutor  Martin Amidu of his unpaid emoluments and other pending  benefits. The letter dated 17th November 2020 reads:

 

This is to acknowledge the receipt of your letter dated 16th November 2020 ( Ref: OSP/ 2/AM/14 ) addressed to the president of the Republic conveying to him your decision to resign from office as a special prosecutor. Which he has accepted. The president has taken due note of the other matters raised in your letter. And the government will issue a statement responding to them in a due time.

The president has directed me to ensure that all emoluments and benefits due you under the law are paid you under law are paid to you accordingly.

The president thanks you for your service to the state and wishes you the best in your future endeavors.
