Kissi Agyebeng, The Newly Proposed Special Prosecutor

Information emanating from the sanctum sanctorum of government has it that private legal practitioner Mr. Kissi Agyebeng has been tipped to be the next Special Prosecutor.

If approved by Parliament, Mr Kissi Agyebeng will be replacing Mr Martin Amidu who resigned from his post last year.

Mr. Agyebeng has many years of legal experience and has been a counsel for notable personalities including Black Stars player Asamoah Gyan, ace investigative journalist Anas Aremeyaw Anas and a few others.

He is currently occupying Special positions in the country.

He is currently the Chairman, Electronic Communications Tribunal, Ghana (since 2019), Notary public, the Republic of Ghana (since 2019), Vice-chairman, appeals committee, Ghana Football Association (2017-2018), Associate – African Center for Cyber Law and Cyber Crime Prevention (since 2010), National co-ordinator – Commonwealth Moot Court Competition on International Criminal Justice (since 2017), Former editor, Ghana Monthly Judgments (2008-2009).

(c) Investigation and prosecution of cases of alleged or suspected corruption and corruption-related offences involving public officers, politically exposed persons, and persons in the private sector involved in the commission of the offence under any other relevant law;

(d) recover and manage the proceeds of corruption;

The Office of Special Prosecutor is to further:
