The University of Ottawa accepts applications for the Excellence scholarship for African students for 2022/2023. The $11 million budgeted scholarship will provide incoming students with a four-year scholarship to cover part of tuition in the school.

Eligibility Criteria: Excellence Scholarship For African Students At The University Of Ottawa

1. Be an international student with a valid study permit

2. Be a citizen of an African country.

3. Be a first-timer on admission to your undergraduate program studying in English or with French immersion.  Programs are:

Engineering	Civil Engineering, Chemical Engineering
Social Sciences	Sociology, Anthropology, International Development, and Globalisation, Conflict Studies, Public administration.
Sciences	All programs apart from Honours BSc in Biochemistry/BASc in Chemical Engineering, Honours BC in Physics/BASc in Electrical Engineering, and Honours BSc in Ophthalmic Medical Technology

 

4. You must enroll as a full-time student

5. Students that will be awarded the Excellence scholarship must have an admission average of a minimum of 90% once converted to the University’s grading scale.

How To Apply: Excellence Scholarship For African Students Ottawa.

There is no special application for this scholarship as eligible applicants will be notified at the time of their admission, however, recipients will be asked to submit proof of citizenship from an African country or territory in Africa before receiving their first installments.

1.  Firstly, head to https://www.ouac.on.ca/ouac-105/ and apply there.

2. The University will receive your application and then generate a student number which you will use to log into the school’s portal, UOZone. And then submit your documents for review.

3. After review, if an applicant qualifies, he/she will receive conditional admission which includes the scholarship depending on their average.

The University of Ottawa is proud of the diversity of its international student body. This renewable scholarship is offered to international students who are citizens of African countries, who are admitted in the Fall 2022 term (September start date) or later with an admission average of 80% or higher, who are studying in English, and who enroll in one of the specified undergraduate programs in the faculties of Engineering, Science, or Social Sciences.
