The destination Australia scholarship under the Destination Australia Program is inviting applications for 2023/2024 awards to eligible education providers for students who want to pursue higher education in regional Australia.

The Destination Australia scholarship under the Commonwealth Government and the Destination Australia Program provides funding for eligible tertiary education providers to offer scholarships to domestic and international students to study and live in regional Australia.

About The Destination Australia Scholarship

This scholarship is funded by the Australian government department of education which aligns with the National Strategy for International Education 2025 with objectives to:

Attract and support study in regional Australia
Grow and develop regional Australian tertiary education providers
Offer eligible students a high-quality learning experience

Description Of The Destination Australia Scholarship

Study/Scholarship Level: Undergraduate/Postgraduate
Scholarship Type: Merit and need-based
Study Areas: Agriculture and Animal Sciences, Science and Mathematics
Scholarship Value: Up to AUD $15,000 per study year
Scholarship Duration: 4 years maximum

Eligibility Criteria For The Destination Australia Scholarship

1. Applicant must be an international student [ intending to study on a student visa, not a citizen of Australia or New Zealand, not an Australian permanent resident, a temporary resident (visa status) of Australia.]

2. Applicant must have a student visa for the duration of the scholarship.

3. If you are a University of Queensland alumni beginning a new program [ for example, beginning a master’s degree after acquiring a bachelor’s from the University]

4. Will study full time via internal study mode at the University Of Queensland Gatton campus for scholarship duration.

5. Reside in regional Australia for the scholarship duration.

Eligible applicants must be starting any of the programs listed below:

Note: Dual degrees with Bachelor of Agribusiness and Master of Agricultural Science [ Plant Protection Major ] are not eligible because they are delivered full-time at UQ Gatton.
