Some few University Of Cape Coast students ( UCC) has been snapped by the police in Kumasi.
On the 22nd Feb, Globecalls made a reportage about a clash between the Atlantic Hall and Oguaa Hall students at UCC.
Some students , most of them from the Atlantic Hall have been arrested in Kumasi and transferred to Accra on Saturday and has since been in custody.
There is no evidence on what triggered the arrest however the culprits are believed to be affiliated to the 22nd Feb clash at UCC which left some school properties in a bad state with most students involved hospitalized.
The Students’ Representative Council (SRC) of UCC has since visited the Central Regional Command of the Ghana Police Service to keep updated with the situation.
A statement issued by the student body said leadership will continue to “engage relevant stakeholders and see to a positive turnout of the situation”.
After the clash in the wee hours of Saturday, February 22, the university authorities banned all hall week celebrations, a decision that did not go down well with the SRC.
The SRC expressed disagreement with the decision and offered to engage management further on the way forward.
