Kumasi Asante Kotoko has sent their new manager Kjetil Zachariassen packing just after 4 months of being in position after firing C.K Akonnor.
The coach refused to travel back home with the team when they failed to secure a win over Etoile Du Sahel after suffering a 3-0 defeat at Monastir in Tunisia.
After spending some time away, Zachariassen returned to meet dismissal letter from Kotoko management that ends his role as a coach with immediate effect.
Zack demanded for a compensation of $12k but Kotoko is not ready to pay but $5k, which let Zack and his agent left the meeting, according to a trusted source.
Zachariassen replaced Akonnor in July this year when Akonnor’s contract was terminated after leading them to the group stage of the continent’s second tier competition.
According to Zachariassen’s contract as a coach, he was supposed to take the team to the group stage of the 2019/20 season in his term and then qualify the team for Champions League in the second year and take them to semi-finals. And in the third year, he is expected to take the team to the Champions League Final.
However, this is the end of his journey as a coach of the Porcupine Warriors.
