The installation of Closed-Circuit Television cameras in and around Accra has proven to be a step in the right direction after a gory accident that took the life of an Okada rider got recorded.
The video released shows how the motor rider ( Okada ) violates red traffic lights only to run the oncoming SUV car which was given a green alert.
It is confirmed that the Okada rider died on the spot as a result of how high he was flung into the air before landing on his head at the scene.
WHAT COULD HAVE HAPPENED?
In Ghana, it is of a high rate that some people shun the need to respect the road safety controls especially the traffic lights. In these cases, when an accident happens, witnesses adjudge the ‘guilty’ ones to severe beatings and later to the remnant of the prisons even though some might not be the cause of the accidents.
In this development, it quite clear how the SUV driver needed more than 3 minutes to step out of his car to prove his innocence in the accident.
