News report reaching globecalls.com indicates that a 17 years old student of St. Anthony Catholic Basic School at Akrobi a suburb of Wenchi in the Bono region, reportedly being a book genius had been murdered.
According to the police investigators, the incident happened on the 29th of March 2021. But yet to be confined if it involved rituals or otherwise.
The deceased has been identified as Philemon Derry, with the closest suspect whose identity is yet to be unveiled in police assisting in the investigation.
The Assembly member of Wenchifie Ntoase, Hon. Richmond Sarfo has disclosed that some belongings of the deceased were found with the suspect suggesting that he might have committed the crime with other accomplices on the run.
He assured one local journalist Nana Afreh Damanta that they are working hand in hand with the police to have persons linked to the crime arrested and prosecuted.
A source from the Wenchi Divisional Police Command confirmed the arrest of the suspect and will be arraigned before court today.
