Sarkodie Opens Up On How Shatta Wale’s ‘Already’ Song Help Him

Rapper Sarkodie has revealed how Shatta Wale’s feature with Beyonce on their ‘Already’ song earned him a contract outside the country.

Sarkodie noted that he was then on the verge of signing an Afrobeat contract with a certain company but because they were in dilemma over the relevance of the music genre, the company was dragging their feet on sealing the contract.

But then, Shatta Wale’s feature with Beyonce which was an Afrobeats song dropped the same week and it sent a message to the company that the ‘Afrobeats’ genre is big and surprisingly, Sarkodie noted that the deal which was delayed got signed.

“So I was out of the country to sign a deal which was dragging for days. I had the deal with some white people. The same week Beyonce released her song with Shatta Wale and after that, the people who were dragging their feet signed the deal for me,” Sarkodie told Dentaa.

For him, he felt Shatta Wale’s feature on Beyonce’s album opened the door for him in that deal and therefore found the need to support.

The Rapper known as the “Highest” noted that if the Lion King Album did well, it will be a blessing to the country because other musicians across the world will want to tap into the Ghanaian market for features and that will help build the industry.
