Pope Francis has tested negative for corona virus after showing signs described as cold on Ash Wednesday.
The Pontiff reportedly kissed the hand and face of some well-wishers during the Ash Wednesday service and later forcibly canceled series of engagements due to the sickness described as ‘cold’.
He had undergone ‘routine’ tests with symptoms as cough, fever , chills and sore throat.
After a swap test as a precaution, the Vatican said Pope Francis who has cancelled the Lent retreat for the first time in his papacy, is suffering from a cold that is not in relation with any other pathologies.
Italy is currently the second-most deaths country behind China – where the virus originates , reporting 41 new deaths on Wednesday bringing the number to 148 in Europe’s most affected countries.
Also, there is a reported corona case in all regions of Italy.
Vatican has now stepped up in preventing the outbreak to more people in the city state by distributing gloves and masks to officials who come into contact with the public.
