Menaye Donkor, the wife Ghanaian ex-footballer Sulley Muntari has donated 2000 pieces of sanitary pads to head potters [ kayayei women ].
The donation, according to the Managing Director and CEO of Sincerely Ghana Limited, was in response to the call for individuals and organisations to support the vulnerable in society to withstand the social crisis brought by Covid-19.
The donation was made through the Gender Ministry on Saturday after a short ceremony at the warehouse of Sincerely Ghana Limited where the pads were produced.
Miss Universe Ghana 2017, Ruth Quarshie, on behalf of Mrs Muntari, presented the items to the sector Minister, Cynthia Morrison.

Mrs Muntari, who is additionally the present National Director of Miss Universe Ghana added, “I wanted to help kayayei by giving them my sanitary pads since I’ve generally been a firm devotee to offering back to society”.
Particularly now that the COVID-19 pandemic has caused so much hardship, it is essential to not exclusively be benevolent to ourselves but to other people,” she said.
The Gender Minister Mrs. Morrison said it was astonishing to see young ladies like Menaye Donkor Muntari take initiatives to help the less privileged in the general public.
“Menaye called me with energy and I could see that she earnestly wanted to help. The 2000 pads will go far to support the recipients,” she stressed.
The Minister thanked the management and staff of Sincerely Ghana Limited for the kind gesture.
She said this is the time for individuals and organisations to give to the needy because if the donations come at a later time the expected positive effects may not be felt so much.
