About 170 gunmen suspected to be terrorists were nabbed in a collective operation titled operation Koudanlgou III on the Ghana-Togo border.
The main purpose of this operation is to put a stop to illegal activities [ terrorists ] and other criminal acts targeted on Ghanaians.
National Security Minister, Albert Kan Dapaah said in a statement:
The exercise is aim at preventing terrorists activities , illegal resource extraction, drug trafficking, dealing in illicit arms, smuggling and other transnational crimes
According to citifm, some of the suspects were in possession of illicit arms, locally-made guns and exotic ones making up to 180 weapons with no valid ID retrieved from the suspects whiles some have thiers renewed in years
The information revealed that some illegal miners both Ghana and foreign nationals were also grabbed at Dollar Power near Bole
