Do You Know Why Hard Work Beats Talent?

Talent is a naturally given ability to do something. When you have a talent in doing something, you are given what it takes or the instincts that are required to perform such a special task. But this means you have the “raw technique”.

So you have the tools to undertake this special task but until you learn how to handle and execute this task with it’s resources that come with it, you will not be able to enjoy it to the fullest.

This is the point where hard work comes in. Hard work combined with your natural talents will take you places where nobody thought you will reach. But talent alone will never take you there, fuse it with hard work, practice, consistent learning and putting in all your effort.

If you don’t strive to gain experiences and lessons relating to your talent, others will surpass you.

Whiles talent is special, hidden and your inner ability, hard work comes ahead of talent as the sustaining factor that keep you going and keep you at the top. That’s why some people learn from role models and become better than their role models.

1. Talent needs fuel [ hard work] to shine and stay relevant.

Talents is just the first gear but you can’t keep only the first gear, you must accelerate. You must keep boiling. Take a look at some sport personalities, the bigger they get the harder they train. They don’t seat on their laurels or awards. Once one goal is achieved, they begin another one with a new mindset.

When you work hard, talents becomes your wildcard. Keep showing people what you’ve got. You will never miss the opportunity that will catapult you to your destiny.

When you don’t work hard, talents burns slowly like a candle and die.

2. Hard work is the difference, the fuel that fuels our skills and talents.

This is the force to winning in any tough situation. It is that primary factor that gives you the edge to make your talent a force to reckon with and throws you ahead of the show.

Hard work is the continuous practice and preparation you use to sharpen yourselves . It is what send you to the finish line ahead of other people.

Let think about this story: A tortoise and a hare were set for a marathon, at sound of the whistle, hare disappeared, whiles tortoise is yet to take his 3rd step, hare is half way the race. Hare realised that tortoise cannot win the race even if he take a break. So he took a break, went roaming in the bush, having fun.

Every second counts for tortoise but hare was not mindful of the time. At last he only heard the victorious shout of tortoise been declared as the winner.

Work hard, harder, hardest.
