A very sad story which was first published by Sahara Reporters details how a man killed his own wife who was a world bank worker with his car over a minor misunderstanding.
The man, Makanjuola Ayedun crushed his wife, Mrs Nike Ayedun to death with a car on Friday, May 14, 2021, around 10 pm. SaharaReporters learnt that Ayedun knocked down his wife, Nike, a staff member of the World Bank office at Asokoro, Abuja while reversing his car.
The website gathered due to the speed of the car, it crashed into a building where some things were destroyed and killed his wife instantly. It was learnt that Ayedun wanted to flee when he realised that he had killed his wife, blaming the incident on brakes failure. A source, however, told SaharaReporters that it was not an accident.
According to the source who is close to the family, the man had always physically assaulted his wife. The latest was over a safe box she got for the purpose of saving money for her son who demanded a huge birthday party.
Makanjuola broke it and she confronted it and he retaliated by beating her. “After beating the hell out of her in the house, he collected her phone so that she could not call anyone. The man went outside and turned on his car’s engine while he came down to open gate. Nike ran to the gate demanding her phone.
The husband said he would crush and kill her, and before she knew what was happening, the man knocked her down with full force while reversing the car,” the source said.
