President of Ghana Nana Addo-Dankwa Akufo-Addo who doubles as chair of ECOWAS has finally addressed the mass’ call to speak about Nigeria’s ongoing unrest.
As a chair of the organization, Nana Addo has undergone a lot of criticism for keeping mute for too long but it got intensified after an alleged massacre of Nigerian forces on the peaceful protesters yesterday night.
Nana Addo assured his critics of plans in place to end Nigeria’s unrest as he has spoken with President Buhari.
This is what he wrote on his social media after call out.
“I join all well-meaning persons in calling for calm, and the use of dialogue in resolving the #EndSARS impasse in Nigeria. I have spoken with President Buhari, who is committed to this end, and has begun the processes that will lead to reform. Violence, be it on the part of the Police or protesters, cannot be the solution. To the families who have lost their loved ones, I express my sincere condolences, and I wish the injured a speedy recovery.”
