Ministry Of information reacts to the fake update about COVID-19 circulating on the media in the hours of tonight

There was an earlier report that went viral that, total number of confirmed COVID-19 cases in Ghana has skyrocketed to 1064. This was shared by a lot of people and was actually causing panic.

The information ministry just came out with the right figure. According to the ministry, the earlier report is fake news. The total confirmed cases as at today, April 13th is 566. “Any other number apart from this is fake” the report added.

It is obvious that some unscrupulous people want to spread fear by twisting information to deceive the public. We must all learn to desist from this act for the collective good.

Most importantly, the ministry of information has designated a website and their official pages where the public must pick information relating to the outbreak. Additionally, frequent briefings are held to address the situation. Kindly keep to these mediums.
