The Students Representative Council (SRC) of the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) has released the Mid-Year Budget Statement (First Semester) for the 2020/2021 academic year.
And from the details on the statement, the budgeted amount for this period has crossed 9 billion old currency which in total is, Ghc 996,250.00.
Mr. Ofosu Felix Solomon, the financial secretary of the SRC on Friday, March 27 2021 made public the administration’s budget following several calls from media activists.
Article 25 (6) of the 2011 SRC constitution as amended mandates the financial secretary to publish the administration’s budget on all notices upon approval by the SRC Parliament.
After the budget was made Public, netizens are wondering why a student body will demand such a huge amount to carry its activities for one academic term. Many has claimed the budget is outrageous and it should be reviewed by the academic board.
With no major programs due to covid 19 pandemic , People of Knust this is the SIKADICOUS KNUST SRC budget (9.9 BILLION old cedis) for only “first semester”as presented by the So-called Defy the odds administration.
