The Central Region Police Command has revealed that it will be impossible for the Kasoa kid murderers to be given lifetime e imprisonment as demanded by the families of the deceased.
In a report, the father of the victim Frank Mensah Abdallah threatens that he will take the law into his own hands if it is not well netted out for his late son as the family seeks life imprisonment for the two teenage killers.
However, speaking on the matter, the Central Region police commander has cleared out that, that will not be possible as the killers are still juveniles.
‘In the case of juveniles, the sentence can’t exceed 5 years, in some cases, it can only be 3 years and even that depends on the verdict of the judge’ Public relations officer for the Central Region Police command DSP Irene Oppong told HelloFM in Kumasi.
‘As we speak, there is no documentary proving their ages are 16 and 17. Therefore we looking forward to getting their weighing cards or birth certificates. In case we don’t get any of these, then the police will have to undertake an investigation to get their real ages. ‘ DSP Irene Oppong added.
