Adidja Palmer aka Vybz Kartel – a DJ and Dancehall musician to continue serving in cells as his hope of being vindicated hits rock again.
Jamaica’s Court of Appeal has ruled on Vybz Kartel’s appeal to overturn his murder conviction.
After a near two-year wait, the Court of Appeal this morning handed down a judgement affirming the murder conviction of the popular entertainer.
Prior to their appeal hearing, Vybz Kartel’s Lead attorney Tom Tavares Simpson said:
“I have no idea what the verdict will be, but what I will say is that it has taken almost 10 years for Vybz Kartel to get justice and people wonder why people say the justice system is broken,” he wrote. “We are all hoping for the best, preparing for the worst. We may have to go to the Privy Council for justice.” he said.
Well, all GAZA fans would be super hurt across the world after years of waiting to hear something positive, meaning the GAZA King is still at the mercies of the lawyers after waiting for almost 3 years.
In April 2014, Vybz Kartel, Shawn Storm, given name Shawn Campbell, Jones and St John were convicted for the August 2011 killing of Clive ‘Lizard’ Williams at a house in Havendale, St Andrew.
Now that the decision is here and the deejay’s legal team will move to the next step in the process, how do you think this will affect the rest of Vybz Kartel’s career? One thing is for sure, Gaza fans everywhere have been left disappointed once again by the court’s decision.
As for Vybz Kartel, a reduced sentence could be the best news he has gotten since his initial arrest.
And the whole Gasa fans can’t wait for that.
