President Nana Addo has addressed the nation for the 16th time on measures taken to combat the spread of COVID-19.
In new updates on the situation on the closedown of schools, Nana Addo said pupils from Nursery to JHS 1 would resume school next year, 2021.
President Nana Addo in his 16th address on the Covid-19 pandemic said, “The next academic year will resume in January 2021 with appropriate adjustments made to the curriculum to ensure that nothing is lost from the previous year.”
He added that necessary arrangements will be made in schools ahead of their full reopening in 2021 to enhance safety on campuses across the country.
“The relevant dispositions will also be made so that the presence at the same time in school of all streams of students can occur in safety. “
The President noted the inconvenience and financial strain the continuing stay at home of children is having on parents and guardians.
He added, “these are a necessary price to pay in our efforts to protect the lives of our children as well as to limit and contain the spread of the virus in our country.”Schools have been shut down since March of this year.
However, JHS 2 and SHS 2 students would soon be allowed in school in October to complete their academic year.
