7th January Is Now A Public Holiday. Constitution Day.

According to Interior Minister Ambrose Dey, the day ” has been declared a public holiday o mark  a constitution day”.

Tomorrow 7th is now a public holiday. All Ghanaians are to honour this day as statutory holiday throughout the country.

“…the public is hereby informed that Tuesday, 7th January which marks Constitution Day, is a statutory holiday and should be observed as such throughout the country..”

In December 2018 a bill was laid before Parliament to alter the Public Holiday Act 2001 to accommodate three more holidays.

These new occasions were seventh of January which was seen as the Constitution Day sooner in 2019, fourth of August which was depicted as the Founders’ Day and 21st of September was set apart as Kwame Nkrumah Memorial Day.

One Death, 2 Injuries In Galamsey Pit Explosion.

A blast in a galamsey pit on Thursday has left one dead with two harmed at Dakurpe, Nothern Region.

Fire Destroys Konongo-based Education Complex. photos and videos

Late in the night, a fire outbreak destroyed school properties in four classrooms and other rooms at the Pinamang School Complex on Thursday.

Reportedly, the fire started around 9pm and before actions were taken, four rooms were in flames.

Staff common room and headmaster’s office were among the rooms destroyed by the fire.

Sources  confirmed a lot of desks, textbooks, electrical appliances and other vital school documents were burnt to ashes.

Firefighters battled with the fire for hours before killing after late arrival.

The source of the fire is unknown.
