Vice President Mahamudu Bawumia Mourns The Murder Of Shaykh Ali Ahmed Maikano

After news report of the murder of Sheikh Ali Ahmed Maikano by some unknown gunmen in the early hours of today, the vice president of the Republic of Ghana, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia has grieved the late Sheikh via a Facebook post.

The incident which reportedly occurred this dawn on the Abromase road where Ali Maikano and his entourage were headed for a Maulid where he is a special guest.

The armed robbers blocked the road and was robbing the travellers at gun point, opening fire at a point which caught the Sheikh.

Police have since launched a manhunt for the armed robbers seeking help and information from the general public at a handsome reward.

The vice president’s words to the family reads; I received with shock the news of the death of Shaykh Ali Ahmed Maikano Kalamu this morning.

The learned Shayhk was a man of peace who worked for the unity of the Muslim community in Ghana.

I offer my condolences to the Maikano family and the Jallo fraternity.

May Allah grant him Jannatul Firdaus and unite him with his father, Shaykh Abdulaihi Maikano and all departed souls.
