The Zambian government has finally approved the usage of marijuana but only for export and medicinal purposes

The government will however charge $250,000 license fees to allow in interested companies to trade in ‘weed’ in Zambia. And also ONLY tradersĀ  who are successful in other business will be allowed to trade so as to prevent the herb from getting into the citizenry.

The deal was announced last Wednesday after some cabinet members met at the state house.

It was confirmed by high status officials from the cabinet office who were not identified because they were not allowed to talk to the media.

“.. Cabinet approved the cab memo submitted by health Minister Dr. Chilufya for marijuana legalization but for medicinal purposes only. What is interesting is that, during that meeting, there were attempts by the Ministry of Home Affairs, Ministry of Agriculture working with Ministry of commerce to take over the whole process of issuing licenses from the Ministry of health who have been pushing these agenda for some time now”. Source said.

“.. it seems like this whole process was supported by some well-to-do organisations who were promised the licenses that is why they were jostling about where the responsibility to administer this would sit, finally voting was done and the Ministry of Health has won. he added.
