Some parts of Shiashe and East Legon have been raged down by fire which has caused a massive destruction in that area.

The fire is said to have swept through the make-shift structures. Over hundreds of structures were brunt to ashes.

By reports, the fire outbreak occurred in the late hours of Friday, August 14th, 2020 around 8pm in the evening and caused power outage in the affected areas of the unfortunate incident.

According to information at hand, some concerned neighbours called the fire service who were quick to the scene to put the fire down.

However, the fire officers were unable to easily navigate their way through as a result of the poor situation of the structures.

The Service has, however, launched investigations into the incident. Eye witnesses say they heard a large explosion from a fuse, which could be the possible cause of the fire, they claimed.

The inhabitants had to spend the night at the near-by Presbyterian Church of Ghana, whose doors were opened to them at the instance of the Member of Parliament for Ayawaso West Wuogon Constituency, Lydia Seyram Alhassan.

The National Democratic Congress (NDC) Parliamentary Candidate, John Dumelo, was also at the scene to sympathise with the victims.
