At the last hearing, Justice Amos Wuntah Wuni adjourned the case to today, September 25, 2020, to allow lawyers for Kennedy Agyapong to present legal arguments on why the court should stay proceedings until the Supreme Court rules on a judicial review application in relation to the case.

Background

The MP is in court for his alleged contemptuous comments in which he described the judge as “stupid”.

Kennedy Agyapong allegedly, made the scandalised statement on his NET2 TV network in the case in which Susan Bandoh and Christopher Akuetteh Kotei had sued him [Mr Agyapong], one Ibrahim Jaja, Nana Yaw Duodu aka Sledge and the Inspector General of Police in a land matter.

The MP had among other things also threatened to “face the judge” who gave a verdict in the case involving him.

He has however rendered an unqualified apology to the Chief Justice, Kwasi Anin-Yeboah, judges and magistrates in the country for his flare-up.
