President Akufo-Addo has said Ghana has not gone back to the doom days of erratic power supply popularly known as Dumsor.
According to him, although there are pockets of “dumsor” here and there, Ghana is on the sure path to providing a reliable power supply to Ghanaians.
Akufo-Addo explained that the recent power outages were a result of ongoing maintenance works on some of the power systems to ensure a stable power supply.
President Akufo-Addo gave the assurance at a durbar of the chiefs and the people of the Mamprugu/Moaduri District in the North East Region held at Yagba yesterday as part of activities of his two-day tour of the region.
“Most of the equipment of our electricity system is very old and weak and so we are replacing all of them now so that we can have a very robust electricity system,” he said.
Meanwhile, the Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG) has released a 22-day Dumsor schedule for parts of Accra. According to the ECG, they will be embarking on maintenance works to ensure a constant supply of power.
