The university of UMM is offering Asian and African students scholarships to students from developing African and Asian countries to undertake full-time undergraduate, postgraduate, and master’s studies in particular programs at the University of Muhammadiyah Malang.

Scholarship Benefits / Inclusions

The Asian And African student scholarship generally includes:

• Tuition fee which covers the registration cost, examination, orientation, laboratories
• Year of study + 1 year for an Indonesian Language class.

Undergraduate Program: 4 years for the undergraduate program + 1 year for the Indonesian language class

Masters Program: 2 years for the master’s program + 1 year for the Indonesian language class

Doctorate Program: 3 years for the doctorate program + 1 year for the Indonesian language class

Eligibility Criteria For Asian And African Students Scholarship

1. Be a maximum of 23 years of age on August 15, 2022, for Bachelor’s program.
2. Be a maximum of 35 years of age on August 15, 2022, for master’s and doctorate programs.
3. Be a citizen of Asian or African countries. ( it is intended for other continents in the Specific numbers ).
4. Be able to provide the health certificate declared by doctors or hospitals registered in their respective countries.

5. Not be a citizen of Indonesia, hold permanent residency in Indonesia, or be applying for a visa to live in Indonesia permanently.
6. Not be a permanent or impermanent worker in Indonesia while studying.
7. After completing the scholarship programs, it is expected to come back to their home.

Registration Requirements and Process for AASS Scholarship 2023

1. Fill out the registration form at the UMM website (including the scholarship application form).
2. Submitting the Character and Penal Clearance certificate from the local police in their home country (such as a court clearance certificate).
3. Latest passport-size photos.

5. Copy of academic documents showing academic qualifications and other supporting documents, as well as translations (official and legalized) in English. Such as academic certificates, academic transcripts, recommendation letters, and other documents.
6. Submit a motivation letter.

7. Submit a recommendation letter.
8. Submit a copy of your birth certificate and Passport.
9. Submit the security vetting.

Steps To Apply For Asian And African Students Scholarship

CREATE ACCOUNT
Go to online.umm.ac.id and click the Personal Admission “Mandiri” category button and sign up. Make
sure your email is correct.

APPLY
Check your email inbox and make sure your Registration PIN has been sent to your email. Go to
online.umm.ac.id again and log in, enter your email and PIN then click login. Choose your education
level (as an international student).

CHOOSE
Choose the study programs you desire and prepare the required documents. Complete all biodata
and upload all the required documents.

VERIFICATION
All submitted data and documents will be checked and verified when it’s complete and fulfill all the
requirements.

INTERVIEW
Attend the interview test as scheduled by the IRO team. The interview consists of two parts: (1)
basic academic knowledge interview for all applicants and (2) scholarship interview for those
applying for UMM Asian and African Students Scholarship (AASS).

FINAL ANNOUNCEMENT
Go to online.umm.ac.id and log in with your Account to check the announcement of your
acceptance to the university.

ENROLLMENT
You will be enrolled at UMM and receive a student number, including your digital student ID card.
